Membership is open to everyone. You may know very little about Dartmoor's Tin Mining past, but, if you would like to find out more then the DTRG could be for you. The Group visit many of the ancient, and more modern remains of stream-works, tin-mills, blowing-houses, and tin mines of Dartmoor. The Group hold site visits, discussions, field investigations and different types of training. The training given could range from learning how to use a Global Positioning System (GPS) to participating in plane table surveys of Dartmoor's mining past. Members receive two Newsletters around January and July each year. These contain articles, notices of current projects, meetings and organised trips. The DTRG is an entirely independent body, raising its income from members and grants, although it did receive a legacy from one of its members. |
