Product information

Gentlemen and Rogues (pub. 2019)

96 full colour pages. Price £5

A fascinating story of the history of the tin mines near Brimpts Farm, near Dartmeet on Dartmoor. The main text is by Dr Tom Greeves and tells the story of the mine through extracts from mining journals and newspaper reports, along with research by DTRG members. This story brings the development of this mine to life, using characterful anecdotes. An additional section of the book about tin mining and ore processing on Dartmoor sets the story firmly in the Dartmoor landscape.

Written by members of Dartmoor Tinworking Research Group, this is an excellent read for all who love the moor, and have an interest in the rich history of its people and landscape.
This has been funded by DNPA’s Moor than meets the eye project.
